Abstract
This research work was conducted to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of nursing mothers towards exclusive breastfeeding in Limawa Community, Chanchaga Local Government Area, Niger State. It informed the health officers of the knowledge of nursing mothers about exclusive breastfeeding in the locality. Among the objectives was to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of  Nursing mothers towards exclusive breastfeeding in Limawa Community, Chanchaga Local Government Area, Niger State and determine the attitude of mothers towards exclusive breastfeeding in Limawa Community, Chanchaga Local Government Area, Niger State. Furthermore, to identify the socio-cultural factors that affect the practice of Exclusive breastfeeding in Limawa Community, Chanchaga Local Government Area, Niger State. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample nursing mothers in Limawa Community, Chanchaga Local Government Area, Niger State. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 180 questionnaires were distributed out of which 175 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that economic empowerment may improve breastfeeding in the village and community, they extend maternity leaves to six months for all working mothers in order to promote breastfeeding for six months. The six months' leaves should be limited to maximum of three children. Lastly, the government should liaise with all employers of labour to ensure and improve breastfeeding support in the home and workplace. ...
