It informed the health officers of the understanding of parents regards local concoctions to manage convulsions in the hospital. Among the objectives was to determine the relationship between the opinions of mothers towards the use of local concoctions in the treatment of convulsions in Pakata health center Ilorin and to identify the factors influencing the opinions of mothers towards the use of local concoctions in treating convulsions. Furthermore, to identify the practices of mothers in treating convulsions. Many medical and allied works of literature were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample mothers attending Pakata Health Center. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 200 questionnaires were distributed out of which 195 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that there is a need for education of all populations that convulsion on its own it not out rightly dangerous, especially in children, and also there is a need for more health information sessions during antenatal and post-natal sessions with women.
