Abstract
This research work was conducted to examine the knowledge and practices of teachers towards the prevention of child sexual abuse among secondary school students in selected secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis. It informed the health officers on the understanding of teachers regarding child sexual abuse in the school. Among the objectives was to assess the level of knowledge of secondary school teachers on preventing child sexual abuse and to determine the factors responsible for child sexual abuse among secondary school students.  Furthermore, to determine the preventive practices of teachers towards child sexual abuse. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research uses descriptive survey to sample teachers in selected schools in Ilorin. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 50 questionnaires were distributed out of which 30 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that it is recommended that nurses should health educate teachers more on ways of preventing child sexual abuse among the students and within the school premises and introduction of sex education to the students as early as possible. Teachers should also pay more attention to the students in the classrooms and report any suspected cases of violence or abuse in children. ...
