Abstract
This research work was conducted to assess nurses' perception of the factors influencing wound healing at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara state. It informed the health officers on the understanding of nurses regarding factors influencing wound healing. Among the objectives was to determine the perception of nurses on factors influencing wound healing among children and to determine the influence of years of practice on the perception of nurses about wound healing among children.  Furthermore, to assess the impact of educational qualification on nurses’ perception of wound healing among children. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research uses descriptive survey to sample nurses in the study area. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 62 questionnaires were distributed out of which 62 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that adequate provision of sterile materials and equipment in the theatre and wards. The government should encourage in-service training of nurses and programs on wound healing and discourage prolong use of corticosteroid drugs especially the patients undergoing surgery, and nurses should acquire adequate and quality education on wound care ...
