It informed the health officers on the understanding of health information managers regarding patient care. Among the objectives was to ascertain whether there is effective health information management in the rural hospital of Lapai local government area of Niger state and to determine whether health workers are aware of the importance of patient information confidentiality. Furthermore, to determine the extent to which patients' health information is made confidential among health personnel. Many medical and allied literatures were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research uses descriptive survey to sample health information managers in the study area. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 200 questionnaires were distributed out of which 200 were also retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that there is a need for Health Information Managers to treat patients as the way it supposed to be treated i.e in accordance, Health Information Managers should communicate well with the patient and their relatives because good communication enhances quality patient care.
