The objective of this research work is to examine the impact of leadership style on organizational performance - case study of Kogi state polytechnic Lokoja. The main objective of this research is to critically examine problems that may be inherent in the type of leadership style. The method used in collecting data in this research work is the administration of questionnaires and the method used in analyzing the data is the simple presentation which will be expressed in percentages and the chi–square application. The chi–square approach finds out the difference between observer and expected frequencies. From the findings of this research work, there is a need for leadership to coordinate and direct workers' efforts toward achieving management goals and objectives. In view of this discussion so far, it is recommended that for any organization to achieve its goals and objective no one single leadership style should be used at all times but any leadership style to be used should be based on the situation that is prevailing of the moment in order to boost the morale of the employees for higher performance. ...
