Abstract
This study examined the relationship between knowledge delegation and employee performance in the private sector in Rivers State. The total population for the study consisted of 200 employees. The study adopted a Quasi-experimental design, simple random sampling methods were used. A total of 105 copies of questionnaires were administered to the respondents and retrieved, simple percentage and chi-square (x2) was used as a statistical tool to analyze the research question and hypotheses. The study reveals that there is a significant relationship between delegation and employee performance. The study concluded that delegation is essential in all organization for flexibility and performance. Hence, it is impossible for any person to execute all the work in an organization, to achieve the objectives of the organization. That is to say that, a single person could not be vested with the entire decision-making authority. Delegation is necessary for an organization to exist. It concludes that employee performance signifies an individual’s work achievement after exerting required effort on the job which is associated with getting meaningful work, engaged profile, and compassionate colleagues/employers around. The study recommends that management should make concrete policies to enhance employee performance in the organization, management should intensify the reward structure for delegated employees for the purpose of employee diligence, efficiency and effective representation of the organization and employee assignment to duties should be structured towards organizational productivity...
