Performance appraisal as a tool for achieving organizational objectives in covid-19 era (case study of MC plastics limited, Kano)

Performance appraisal system is a good instrument that can be used to improve the quality of an organization’s workforce performance, which is considered an important aspect of human resources management and part of the control process in administration. Therefore, this study examined performance appraisal as a tool for achieving organizational objectives in the covid-19 era. The study employed both primary and secondary methods of data collection with 90 staff of MC Plastics Limited, Kano as sample size for the study, while secondary sources used comprised related literature on the study through journals, the internet and textbooks. Statistical package for social sciences (SPSS, version 23) was used to analyze the data. The study reviewed the necessary literature related to the study. The findings of the study revealed that performance appraisal is important to organizations because it helps to ensure that the organization will be easily understood by employees and effectively put into action by managers. The study recommends among others that organizations should take performance appraisal criteria seriously in order to bring about workers’ productivity leading to organizational objectives. By using performance appraisal criteria, employees will feel comfortable since they will be aware of what is needed to be done in order to improve organizational objectives. ...
