Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess mothers’ knowledge attitudes and practices regarding vaccination during the first five years of life in comprehensive care Kofar Kaura. The study concluded that mothers in comprehensive primary health care in Kofar Kaura, Katsina have positive attitudes and their knowledge and practice improved their knowledge, majority of mothers in compressive primary care center Kofar Kaura, Katsina had a high level of knowledge regarding, attitude and practice regarding childhood vaccination and there socio–demographic aspects. According to this study, massive public health education must be intensified through the provision of information and communication material to enhance the knowledge attitude and practice of parents about immunization and vaccine preventable diseases. Based on the findings of these studies the following recommendations were drawn. The Federal Government and State Government should work out a plan for more regular availability of vaccine materials and equipment in Comprehensive Primary Health Care Kofar Kaura and other areas to ensure effective and efficient delivery of immunization. All aspects of immunization should be free including the cost of syringes in the facilities and an incentive should be given to health workers to encourage them during immunization. Federal Government should monitor the level of utilization of funding allotted to immunization at all levels in the health care system. It is also recommended that to improve the accessibility of general health care providers at the units, especially the service unit, the role of media in the form of awareness on radio, television and social media to encourage people to immunize their children....
