Abstract
This study critically examined the impact of Covid-19 on the real estate market in Nigeria with particular reference to Lafia metropolis of Nasarawa State. The study adopted survey design method and data for this study was collected using two methods of data collection i.e. primary and secondary methods of data collection. The primary method used a structured questionnaire administered to the respondents, whereas the secondary method data were collected from extant publications and research i.e editorials from newspapers, editorials from journals, published and unpublished dissertations, international journals, online books etc. The target population for this study was mainly estate surveying and valuation firms in Nasarawa State. Stratified sampling technique was used to determine the sample size for the study and 120 sample size was chosen for the study. Out of the 120 administered questionnaires to the respondents, 100 were filled and duly returned and were used for the data analysis using simple percentage method of data analysis. Findings from the study revealed that there are likely demand chain disruptions in the property market as a result of Covid-19 and there is slow demand for both residential and commercial properties as a result of the pandemic. The study therefore recommends among others that policymakers should come up with both fiscal and financial support for the real estate sector to have a quick recovery and that property developers should study the market for the absorption rate of their products....
