A study of some selected businesses in Lafia metropolis. For the purpose of this study, a survey design methodology was adopted. Data were collected from primary sources for the administration of questionnaires on respondents while secondary data were collected from the organization’s records fully documented, print media (news dailies, journals, textbooks and the internet). Frequency distribution and simple percentages served as the main statistical tools employed in analyzing the data. Findings from the study revealed that to a large extent there is a relationship between succession management and organizational survival in the majority of the small registered businesses in Lafia metropolis and that succession management yields business continuity in an effective way in a business organization.
