The study adopted a descriptive survey design in which five research questions were posed. The population of the study was 50 while a sample size of 50 respondents was selected out of the total population of the commercial drivers in the study area. Six point scale questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. The instrument was adequately validated with its reliability established using test-retest. Data collected were analyzed using mean scores. Based on the data collected and carefully analyzed, the researcher made the following findings majority of the respondents 41 (82%) also believe that regular eye screening will enhance good vision, good driving and prevent road traffic accidents. Finally, the table indicated the mean positive response by respondents to the items is 201 (80.4%), which is greater than the mean negative response 49 (19.6%). This implies that the respondents have knowledge of eye screening exercises. This study has shown that various eye diseases and defects that can affect driving are common among commercial drivers. There is therefore the need for proper and adequate eye examination by an ophthalmologist as well as vision testing before being given a license to drive.
