This research study was a descriptive survey carried out to assess the level of knowledge about the use of eye makeup among female students of the School of Health Information Management, University of Delta Teaching Hospital. The objectives of the study were to identify the frequency of eye makeup usage among female students and to assess and identify the ocular effect of makeup usage among female students. 50 respondents were used for the research. The information from the research was manually analyzed and presented using frequency tables and bar charts. Hypotheses were tested using chi-square at 0.05 level of significance. The analysis revealed that 68% of respondents strongly agreed while 16(32%) agreed that eye makeup is common among female students, 50% of respondents strongly agreed and 60% agreed while 18% disagreed that particles from makeup can accidentally scratch the surface of the cornea causing corneal abrasions, there is no significant relationship between eye makeup and ocular effect on vision among female students of School of Health Information Management and there was no significant relationship between the knowledge and usage of eye makeup among female students. It was therefore concluded that nurses should always support students with eye defects arising from frequent eye makeup and nurses should health educate students on dangers attached to injury from eye makeup and students should avoid too much and frequent eye makeup and students should report any eye problems arising from eye make up usage to eye clinic.
