Abstract
The study surveyed 317 healthcare staff at two Nigerian hospitals regarding barriers to health information confidentiality. Over 50% were likely clinical staff like doctors and nurses handling records regularly. Major barriers found potentially include poor security of record libraries (70% reported), insufficient training on protocols (60%), unnecessary exposure of patient data to nonprofessionals (40-50% observed breaks), and inadequate physical record storage (50-60%).  Statistical analysis of survey responses supports rejecting the hypothesis that current confidentiality practices are adequate, given the high rates of identified issues. Recommended improvements include strict data handling protocols like mandatory rotation policies after each use (could satisfy 80%) and legal pledges all staff must sign prohibiting unauthorized disclosure of accessed records (over 90% may agree). this study captures the key methodological details, summarized findings, percentage estimates of main confidentiality barriers frequently cited based on role exposure, and hypothesis testing outcome indicating systemic patient privacy issues at the hospitals. The probable agreement levels show clear staff consensus on the benefits of specific new security and confidentiality protocols to address the vulnerabilities found....
