The study attempt to examine the impact of VAT on consumptions of goods and service, evaluate the implication which VAT will have on the taxpayer to achieve this specific objective, the researcher examine extant literature on the aforementioned issues, the researcher used both primary and secondary data the primary data involve the use of questionnaire and personal interview while the secondary data involve the use of existing literature like text-books, journals, e.t.c sixty five (65) questionnaire was administered out of which all were retrieved. The researcher used the statistical tool of the chi-squared and the table method of analysis to estimate the impact that VAT has on the consumption of goods and services, and evaluate the implications that VAT will have on the taxpayer. Result reveal that respondents are of the opinion that VAT has an impact on the consumption of goods and services and that VAT is paid only when returns are rendered.
