This research examines the nature of job stress, identifies the causes of stress, and assesses the effect of stress on job performance among health workers in Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Ile-Ife. The study adopted descriptive survey research design and made use of a well-structured questionnaire. The target population was 80 staff of Health Information Management department. Total enumeration was adopted. 80 questionnaires were administered and out of which 60 was retrieved making a response rate of 75%. The analysis of data was done using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS version 20). Data analysis was done using frequency counts and percentage distribution. It was found from the study that (88.3%) of the respondents agreed that the causes of stress on job performance resulted from the nature of the working conditions and that (91.7%) of the respondents confirmed the nature of job performance faced by health workers which negatively or positively affect the level of job performance in the hospital.
