Abstract
This study was carried out to examine the Adoption of E-health Platforms as a Means of Collaboration among Hospitals. E-health is a technological development, a way of thinking, a commitment to networking, and a way of improving health services locally by using information and communications technology. Here, the issue is how the general practitioners (GPs) and the specialists commit and network (i.e., interact and collaborate) in order to improve treatment and health services locally. When collaborative work through videoconferencing between levels of care becomes a part of daily medical practice, health service providers are able to deliver new forms of health care, which may be regarded, as a new method of providing e-health to the population. The adoption of e-health platforms is more prevalent in developed countries than in developing countries like Nigeria, it follows therefore, from the above, Nigerian hospitals are yet to reap the full benefits associated with e-health approach to inter-hospital collaboration. Hence, the study investigates the adoption of e-health platforms as a means of collaboration among hospitals in Nigeria. The main objective of this study is to look into the adoption of e-health platforms as a means of collaboration among hospitals in Nigeria. The specific objectives are to Assess the means of collaboration using e-health platforms as a means of collaboration among hospitals, Examine the levels of collaboration using e-health platforms as a means of collaboration among hospitals, and Investigate the benefits of adoption of e-health platforms as a means of collaboration among hospitals....
