The data obtained from the respondents were analyzed with the use of Statistical Package for social science (SPSS) version 20.0. The data gathered from selected members of staff of OAUTHC revealed that there is high awareness of ICT and inter-departmental communication among workers in OAUTHC. The study also revealed that ICT has effects on inter-departmental communication in the hospital and that some barriers militate against the use of ICT in inter-departmental communication in OAUTHC. Based on the findings it was concluded that there is a high level of awareness of ICT and inter-departmental communication in OAUTHC. ICT has effects on inter-departmental communication such as enhancing the timely transfer of patient medical records, promoting better communication among departments contributing to the effective management of patients, reducing patient waiting time in the hospital following a timely transfer of patient medical information, enhancing staff-staff communication, head-head communication and subordinate to head communication.
