The study employed the survey design method. 186 employees of selected banks. The data collected were analyzed using correlation and regression analysis as analytical tools. The findings revealed that self-awareness is significantly related to employee performance, which implied that self-awareness helps to persuade others in pursuing a common goal or organizational mission. The study found that there is a significant positive relationship between self-awareness and employees' effectiveness, there is a significant positive relationship between self-apathy and employees' effectiveness and that managing the emotions of leaders does positively affect employees' effectiveness. The study concludes that there is a significant relationship between self-awareness, empathy, managing emotions of the leaders, and employee effectiveness in the United Bank for Africa, Nasarawa Branch. It implied that increased self-awareness would boost morale and attitude that would provide a happy, productive and performing employee as a result of job satisfaction towards achieving organizational goals and objectives.
