The study examined three main objectives: effect of leadership style on quality health information management practice, how leadership style and effective communication improve health information management practice and the shortcomings/failures of health information management practice. This study will be of benefit to the health record department, the hospital as a whole and the researcher whose work is related to this study. The review of related literature was also done through the internet, textbooks, and past related projects. A descriptive statistics was used as a research methodology and a questionnaire was used as the research instrument, where 86 copies of the questionnaire were administered to the health information management personnel and 80 copies of the questionnaire were retrieved for data analysis using SPSS version 20.0. A simple random sampling technique was adopted. Based on the findings from this research, it was revealed that leadership style plays a significant role on quality health information management practice as the role of leadership with their style of leading can never be underestimated.
