The chatbot was developed using Python and a structured JSON-based knowledge base, enabling it to simulate human-like conversations and provide real-time, course-relevant responses to student queries. The system employs basic natural language processing techniques and string similarity matching (via the difflib library) to interpret user inputs and retrieve the most appropriate answers. A rule-based approach was used to structure the chatbot’s responses, ensuring accuracy and simplicity. The system was designed to operate via a command-line interface, offering a lightweight and offline-compatible learning assistant suitable for institutions with limited access to the internet or high-end infrastructure. Testing showed that the chatbot could accurately answer over 85% of expected student questions and handle minor variations in phrasing. Its implementation highlights the potential of low-cost AI tools in improving educational delivery, particularly in resource-constrained environments.
