Abstract
This research work empirically explored into the impact of training and development on workers’ productivity in Nestle Agbara factory Ogun state.The purpose of which is to investigate the influence of manpower training on productivity of Nestle Agbara factory as well proffer solution to such problems. The objectives of this study were to examine the effect of training and development on manpower in Nestle Agbara factory Ogun state, examine the impact of trained manpower on productivity in Nestle Agbara factory Ogun state. The scope of the study is Nestle Agbara factory in 2019 making use of the senior and junior staff workers, system theory was used as a framework. The research design used is survey, the population size for this study consists of all the staff of Nestle agbara factory, which is a total of 2201 workers. 338 workers were used as sample size and cluster sampling technique was applied. Questionnaire was used as an instrument of data collection. Data were collected from primary sources. From the analysis of the data, the findings shows that manpower development programmes affect manpower in Nestle Nigeria PLC, trained manpower affects the level of productivity in Nestle Nigeria PLC. Following the findings, it was recommended thateffective training and development programme should be inculcated by the management of Nestle Nigeria PLC. The essence of training is to equip staff with necessary skills and techniques needed for the particular job in the organization, workers should be properly trained for the right position. This significantly will help to boost efficiency and effectiveness of the company and ensure full capacity utilization. The study concludes that workers can only work effectively if given the right training required for such tasks and provided with the right equipment....
