Abstract
This project titled"The appraisal of teaching techniques used in the teaching of economics in senior secondary schools - case study of Dekina local government area Kogi state". Research on teaching and learning constantly endeavors to examine the extent to which different teaching methods enhance growth in student learning. Descriptive research design was used and a total of one hundred (100) students and teachers were sampled for the study. Following the background of the study, the problem statement and the objective of the study which provided basis for the significance of the study and the hypothesis were stated. The limitations of this study were also highlighted. International and local journals were reviewed to elicit views on the relationship between teaching, methods and academic performance of senior secondary school students in Anyigba. Research methodology, description of population and sampling procedure for data collection were discussed. Methods of questionnaire design, determination of sampling size and questionnaire distribution were also highlighted. Based on analysis of data collected, this work was subdivided into data analysis, hypotheses testing and summary. Frequency and percentage table, figures and narration were carefully employed for proper understanding and testing of hypotheses. The study recommend amongst others that the appraisal of teaching techniques used in teaching of economics in senior secondary school....
