Abstract
This study investigates the effect of job satisfaction on employee performance in the healthcare sector in Delta State, using Central Hospital, Agbor, as a case study. The research focuses on three core dimensions of job satisfaction: job security, career development, and motivation and their influence on employee performance. A descriptive survey design was employed, and data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to a sample of 200 healthcare workers, drawn from an initial population of 220. Descriptive statistics and Chi-square analysis were used to analyze the data. The results showed that job satisfaction plays a significant role in determining employee performance. Specifically, job security, career development opportunities, and motivational factors such as recognition and rewards were found to have a positive effect on employees' productivity, commitment, and overall performance in healthcare delivery. The study confirmed the acceptance of the alternative hypotheses, indicating that improvements in job satisfaction significantly enhance employee outcomes. The study concludes that healthcare institutions must prioritize strategies that improve staff satisfaction to achieve higher levels of performance, reduce burnout, and enhance the quality of healthcare services. It recommends that hospital administrators invest in professional development, implement clear job security policies, and offer adequate motivation to foster a committed and productive workforce....
