This study examined the perceived effects of stress and associated factors among community health students in College of Health Technology, Offa, Kwara State. A descriptive cross-sectional survey design was employed, involving 144 community health students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including frequencies and percentages. Findings revealed that the majority of students (78%) experienced difficulty managing study time, 71% felt overwhelmed by academic workload, and 82% reported stress due to parental expectations. Exam-related anxiety (61%), lack of motivation (77%), and fatigue from excessive studying (73%) were also prevalent. Additionally, 75% of respondents stated they performed better academically when less stressed, while 85% expressed anxiety about making mistakes during clinical practice. Coping strategies varied, with most students practicing positive self-talk (74%), adequate sleep (74%), and relaxation techniques (69%). However, only 52% avoided procrastination, indicating inconsistent coping habits. In conclusion, the study found that academic stress is prevalent among community health students and negatively impacts their academic performance. While some students employ adaptive coping strategies, there remains a need for structured support systems. It is recommended that schools provide mental health services, conduct time management training, and promote awareness among parents and practitioners.
