Abstract
Total quality management (TQM) still remain the backbone of success of any organization, the research work was carried out to ensure continuous improvement in the effectiveness, flexibility and competitiveness of a business as a whole and to ensure complete customers satisfaction internally and externally. The aim of this study is to identify TQM and determine the common types and quality control techniques adopted to some organization. Also, to find out how TQM has enhanced organizational effectiveness. it was discovered that poor management style, low productivity and low level of motivation and better working environment for the workers in Imo State adversely affected the implementation of TQM. In line with this data were collected using interview, observation and self developed questionnaire, also data collected from journals, textbooks, etc were used measuring the dimension of TQM. In order to prevent improper improvement of TQM, employee should be trained to understand the customer relationship, team work and good communication should be ensured. Finally, when successfully implemented, TQM tightly aligned with the organizations over all business strategy maximizing customers’ satisfaction and changes the mindset towards continuous quality improvement. ...
