Abstract
This research work examines"Public Relations as a veritable tool for eradicating cultism in Nigeria Tertiary Institutions" (A case study of the Federal Polytechnic Bida). The main objectives of the study is to examine if there were laws that will help students resist joining secret cults, to ascertain the extent of adequacy of mobilization and encouragement of the students to support the crusade against cultism, to find out the extent of non-information on cultism, and its damages to The Federal Polytechnic Student Bida and to generally know the reasons why students cultism still prevails and some possible solutions of a way out. The findings of the study reveal that factors that lead to student cultism are peer pressure, the quest for power, poor home training, and inadequate welfare program for students search for security/popularity, social problems and the collapse of the Nigerian economy. The study recommends amongst other things that government should improve the funding of the education sector so that the Tertiary Institutions will regain their former prestige and reputations as centers of debate and excellence ...
