Abstract
This research project is specifically aimed at examining"The Importance of Economic Contributions of Enterprises on the host Community in Benue State", Using Dangote Cement PLC as its area under survey hence economic contributions or benefits of public or private enterprises on their host communities cannot be over-emphasized. As most of these companies are not living up to expectations of their duties in the host communities when their activities have contributed immensely to environmental degradation of the region, the air, water and land pollution, destruction of natural habitations and waste disposal system that are harmful and destructive to the host community. To conduct this research, the research design used for this study was the survey research design which questionnaires were formulated and shared among employees of Dangote Cement Company and students of a selected number institutions such as University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State University and National Open University Nigeria Makurdi Study Centre, College of Agriculture Yandev and Colleges of Education Katsina-Ala/Oju Benue State who are indigenes of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State and finally the report also covers a selected number traders and farmers in Gboko town, Tse-Kucha, Amua, Ikpa Mbatirerev, and Akpagher all in Gboko Local Government Area of the state. The study concluded that the application of effective, well-formulated policies would help improve the level of effective contributions made by these companies/enterprises to their host states/nations entirely not just their host communities. Thus, the researcher concludes that like in many other nations, the Nigerian government must revisit the entire framework to which the creation and existence of these enterprises exist and are regulated....
