The study adopted a simple percentage survey research design involving 40 teenagers. The researcher questions were divided into two sections, section A contains the respondent’s personal data and section B contains the subject of the study. Simple percentage rate was used to analyze the data collected. The result revealed that the age at which teenagers engaged in sexual intercourse is too early, socioeconomic background, early marriage and traditional gender roles, peer pressure, lack of sex education and non-use of contraceptives during sexual intercourse are causes of teenage pregnancy. Also, that incomplete education, isolation and rejection by parents, mother’s health risk during childbirth and financial handicap were effects of teenage pregnancy. Based on the findings, recommendations were made to federal and state governments to contribute to the efforts to reduce teenage pregnancy by providing stable funding for comprehensive education for female teenagers.
