Abstract
This research work empirically explored into NTA Manpower/Equipment Status and Influence on Productivity with particular reference to NTA Lokoja.The purpose of which is to investigate the influence of manpower/equipment on the productivity of NTA Lokoja and as well proffer solution to such problems. NTA Lokoja is a broadcasting house responsible for disseminating information to the public. The objectives of this study were to examine the impact of manpower on productivity in NTA Lokoja, ascertain the impact of equipment on productivity in NTA Lokoja, identify the challenges associated with manpower training programmes in NTA Lokoja and examine the challenges in accessing equipment in NTA Lokoja. The scope of the study is NTA Lokoja in 2019 making use of the senior and junior staff workers, system theory was used as a framework. The research design used is survey, the population size for this study consists of all the staff of NTA Lokoja, which is a total of 50 workers. 44 workers were used as sample size and cluster sampling technique was applied. Questionnaire was used as an instrument of data collection. Data were collected from primary sources. From the analysis of the data, the findings show that manpower affect productivity in NTA Lokoja, equipment availability is very important to NTA Lokoja, inadequate funds affect the level of manpower training programmes Following the findings, it was recommended that effective training and development programme should be inculcated by the management of NTA Lokoja, policy aimed at acquiring equipment and funding training programmes should be enacted. The study concludes that media staff can only work effectively if given the right training required for such tasks and provided with the right equipment....
