Abstract
ABSTRACT The world has been recently exposed to phenomenal global changes in different fields including economy, technology and communications.  The term''globalization'' has been used in connection with these changes and their consequences.  The aim of this paper is to understand the term''globalization'' and to study its impacts for the construction industry and developing countries in general. Its objectives include investigating the impacts of the changes imposed by globalization especially on the Construction industry, discussing the dilemma between the‘advantages’ and‘threats’ of globalization and identifying the trends of globalization in intercultural and global society contexts. Data were collected using well-structured questionnaires administered to professionals. The data collected from the questionnaires was analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS Version 16) statistical tools.  The paper ends with conclusions and recommendations, stressing the need for managing both the advantages and disadvantages of globalization to the benefit of the nations, especially in construction industry. With the results obtained on this research project, globalization has really play a vital role in the development of Nigeria construction industry by improving its quality control, safety practices, construction researches, projects delivery, and has also significantly encourages oversea investment.     ...
