To achieve this purpose the quantitative descriptive survey design was used to assess 220 respondents drawn from the local government area through simple random sampling technique and the Taro Yamane sample determination formula. A 4-point Likert scale questionnaire with close-ended questions was used to obtain responses from the respondents, 220 copies of questionnaire were distributed to the respondents while 210 copies were received. Data collected for this study were analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency, percentages, mean and standard deviations and inferential statistics of the independent t-test. 0.05 level of significance was used for the test of significance. The findings show that age and educational status have a significant effect on health care seeking behaviour among the aged group in Bende local government area of Abia state and poor health care seeking behaviour is present among the male elderly respondents in contrast to the female. It was concluded that education and age are significant factors in decreasing healthcare seeking behaviour among the aged in Bende local government area of Abia state. It was recommended that the government should embark on massive enlightenment programs for the aged in other to educate them and encourage them on health services available to them and also seek them when needed.
