The objectives of this study were to examine the nature of radio broadcast/programs in Nigeria, to ascertain the prospects of radio broadcast/programs in Nigeria. The scope of the study is FCT in 2020making use of its residents, information theory was used as a framework. The research design used for this study is survey, the population targeted for this study consists of all residents of the six LGAs in FCT. 400 residents were used as sample size and cluster sampling technique was applied. Instrument used for this study is the questionnaire. Data collected were collected from primary sources. From the analysis of the data, the findings show that the standard of radio broadcast in Nigeria is average, the radio broadcast will help improve the economy and perform vital functions if allowed in an enabling environment. Following the findings, it was recommended that the standard of radio broadcast/programs should be raised, radio stations should be allowed to practice in an enabling environment. The study concludes that radio broadcast/programs are very important in Nigeria.
