Abstract
The research topic captioned“Enhancing the performance of cooperative societies through the application of cooperative principles and legislations (A case study of Ekeonunwa Market Cooperative thrift and credit society limited in Owerri Municipal of Imo State) was conducted to examine the performance of cooperative principles and legislations in Ekeonunwa market cooperative Owerri. In pursuance of this investigation, the research work cover five chapters, chapter one deals with the introduction background of the study, statement of the problem, objective of the study, research question, statement of hypothesis, significance of the study, scope of the study, limitations of the study and definition of terms. Chapter two deals with the review of past related literature to the topic of this project and relates them to the study on hand to show that the process adopted in this study is real. Chapter three deals with the design for the study and the methodology of the analysis. Chapter four deals with the data presentation, analysis and interpretation data collected were presented in a tabular form while percentage was used for the analysis. Chapter five deals with summary of findings, conclusion and recommendation of the research based on the out work. ...
