Abstract
The study was to determine the Relevance of Laboratory Management in Learning Technical and Vocational Education Programme at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko in Ondo State. The increase in the demand for skills acquisition and self-reliance education in the nation has called for better management of Technical and Vocational Education Laboratory. Government, School Administrators, and all users of Technical and Vocational Education Laboratory are responsible for the effective management of the laboratory. In the study, four research questions were developed and answered in consonance with what the study sought to find out. Structured questionnaire was developed and used for the study. The questionnaire was used for the collection of data from 70 respondents, composed of tertiary institution students, lecturers and laboratory technologists. Data collected were analyzed using mean and Chi-square statistics. Findings from the study show that Laboratory Management is of great necessity in ensuring effective learning and quality skills acquisition in Technical and Vocational Education Programme. In the study, it was recommended that Technical and Vocational Education Laboratory tools, equipment and machines should be adequately provided, regularly maintained and organized in such a way that will aid effective learning of the programme. ...
