Literature works were reviewed in order to extract information on marketing management, organizational behavior and other relevant journals, magazines, seminar papers on the research topic were consulted. Self-administered close-ended questionnaires were used to solicit for information from the sampled respondents. The data were analyzed and interpreted using simple percentages. It was discovered from the analysis among others that performance appraisal is a good and effective tool for motivating Nigerian workers. In the test of the hypothesis, it was discovered that performance appraisal leads to an increase in productivity.
