Abstract
The study was targeted at determining the amount of renal drug clearance and its relationship with the quantity of drug intake by humans. The study adopted the cohort experimental design on 50 randomly selected individuals in Coastal Specialist Hospital in Warri Metropolis for a period of one month. The data for the study were therefore sourced from the observation of the results of the experiments. Various statistical methods such as the regression, paired sample, and independent sample t-test were used to analyze and provide explanations to the problem under study. The result indicated that 42.9% of the change in renal drug clearance can be influenced or determined by the dose of drug and individual takes. This result clearly revealed that despite the close relationship between drug interaction and renal drug clearance, only the amount of drug intake cannot be wholly used to predict renal drug clearance 100% and thus, other variables are also effective in determining the level of renal drug clearance. It was concluded that the more the quantity of drug intake the lesser the ability of the kidney to clear drugs. Low drug clearance levels can mean you have chronic kidney disease or serious kidney damage. Kidney damage can be from conditions such as a life-threatening infection, shock, cancer, low blood flow to the kidneys, or urinary tract blockage....
