The basic subject addressed in this research work is the impact of the insurance industry on the growth and development of the Nigerian economy. It raised some research questions established some assumptions, it was observed that the insurance industry has great importance in the growth and development of Nigeria''s economy through the administration of questionnaires and personal interviews and responses were to test the reasonableness of these assumptions in order to raise recommendations. The research samples the population by choosing respondents from the scope of the study, and the researcher also made use of primary and Secondary Data. The data collected from the questionnaire sent to them were presented, analyzed and interpreted, which, was classified in rows and columns for easy understanding. Percentages were also used and hypothesis tests from the findings, it was obvious after a thorough review of relevant detailed literature. The researcher concluded that the insurance industry has played a great impact on the growth and development of Nigeria''s economy.
