Abstract
This study is about the perceived causes and effects of inter-professional conflict among health information staff and other professionals In Baruten local government primary health care center’s Kwara State. The broad objective of this researcher work is to examine the perceived causes and effects of inter-professional conflicts among health information management staff and other health professionals in the primary health care center’s. To achieve the stated objective of this study convenience sampling techniques were used to sample one hundred and sixty ( 160) of the selected health professionals. The instrument used was structured closed-ended questionnaires which were distributed to five (5) selected health professionals in Baruten primary health care center’s. Through frequency table with percentage and normal distribution were used to analyze the respondent’s opinion. The finding shows that 113(75.3%) of the respondents agreed that conflict between health workers has an effect on health care in primary health care while 37(24.6%) said no. The study also discovered that that the majority 113( 75.3%) of the respondents identified that superiority complex, encroachment, job discrimination, bureaucracy and suppression of other health workers are the major causes of inter-professional conflict in the Baruten primary health care center’s while 37(24%) of the respondent did no. Finally, the result shows that the majority of the respondent agreed that there is a significant effect of inter-professional conflict among Health Information management staff and other Health Professionals in primary health care Baruten, which means that conflict actually exists in the primary health care and the researcher recommended to primary health care management, should educate the staff on the conflict and organize mandatory counseling programmed for them. ...
