It is meant to identify the various direct effects of dropout in child immunization, assess the socio-demographic factors associated with immunization drop-out among children aged 2months to 5years, identify whether poor education of mothers or guidance affects immunization of children aged 2 months to 5years, assess the level of release of fund by the government for implementation of routine immunization, assess whether lack of awareness of immunization schedule by mothers affects the implementation of routine immunization and to identify whether health workers attitude contributes to immunization dropout. 99% questionnaires distributed were retrieved and 52% of the participants fall into the age bracket of 26-35yrs, 38% was of the age of 36-45yrs, 10% of 46-55yrs and 0% of 56yrs and above, while 91% of the participants were married and 9% were single. 30% of respondents worked in the health clinics and 70% were mothers. 11% of participants also agreed that immunization dropout would course diminished immunity, 20% believed immunization dropout could cause the loss of immunity, 8% repetition of process and 61% risk of infection. The government, either the state or the local government has shown no financial commitment to the support of routine immunization which has an adverse effect on the implementation of routine immunization. Mothers’ lack of awareness on the number of vaccination schedules per antigen is also affecting routine immunization as mothers who would not understand the vaccine schedule tend to miss out at some point in time.
