The study shows the relevance of primary healthcare records management in any healthcare institution. Among the objectives developed for the study is to identify the need for accurate primary healthcare records keeping as a management tool for the promotion of patient care. Furthermore, to identify the level of knowledge of health information managers in Sumaila uxYamme Primary Health Center among others. Many related medical and allied records were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research used a descriptive survey to sample 98 staff of Sumaila Yamme Primary Health Center. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 98 questionnaires were distributed out of which 98 were retrieved. Data were presented in a simple frequency distribution table and findings were discussed accordingly. In conclusion, recommendations were made that there should be a well standard primary healthcare records service, that is, the use of health records in electronic form this will eventually improve patient care outcomes and the government should employ more health professionals for the betterment of the job.
