Abstract
The research focused on the knowledge on teamwork among Health Care Management in University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Akure complex. The evaluation was done through the use of structured questionnaires tailored towards: How healthcare teams enable organizations to speedily develop and deliver services cost-effectively while retaining high quality and find out the challenges facing effective and efficient teamwork in healthcare management among the healthcare professionals at the University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital Akure Complex, Ondo State. The employed survey research design in the work. The questionnaire was structured in line with the objectives set out to be achieved in the study. A total number of 247 healthcare professionals were selected, sample size and survey system sample size calculator was used to select the participants and 163 were retrieved. The data generated from the field were presented and analyzed using a frequency distribution table and simple percentage (%). Among the 163 participants, 93.25% have heard about teamwork whole 6.75% have not heard about teamwork. The study revealed that the participants have the ideal knowledge of teamwork among healthcare professionals. The study also revealed that health workers cannot achieve it's goal without working together. However, the management should make sure that the relevant requirements to promote teamwork among the health workers should be provided to all the departments. The study also reveals possible solutions to the Challenges facing effective teamwork among the healthcare professionals like to create a good working condition for all staff without bias, making the rules and regulations of the hospital work for everything without sideling. In conclusion, this study makes various recommendations to tackle any possible challenges facing the state of teamwork in healthcare management among healthcare professionals at University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital Akure Complex, Ondo State. ...
