The purpose of this study was to explore the question, whether the outcome of health statistics enhances health care delivery or not. The study was conducted at the University of Ilorin teaching hospital. A descriptive research design with convenience sampling of 110 respondents from the University of Ilorin teaching hospital responded to questionnaires on the impact of health statistics in a health care delivery system. Related literature, questionnaire and interview were employed to complement the survey data. Therefore, based on the findings, major challenges to the health statistics is inadequate and faulty collection instruments, unawareness of health workers on health statistics and erratic power supply. It is, therefore, recommended that one major problem that must be immediately tackled is mandatory training of all health care providers as regards the collection of health statistics data and the use of non-faulty instruments.
