This project work examined the knowledge and practice of adolescent on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections in selected secondary schools in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. It also informed the health officers and school administrators on the need for prevention of sexually transmitted infections. Among the objectives is To evaluate the practice of adolescents regarding prevention of STIs and to find out whether they have knowledge about the consequences of STIs, to determine whether health education have influence on the practice of adolescents toward STIs, to find out whether peer group has an influence on the practice of adolescents toward prevention if STIs among others. Many medical and allied works of literature were reviewed to develop more facts for the project work. This research use descriptive survey to sample 80 students of the study area. Questionnaire is the instrument used to gather and analyze the data, 80 questionnaires were distributed out of which 80 were retrieved. In conclusion, recommendations were made that sex education teachings should start from home through mothers, parents are advised to have time for the monitoring of the movement of their wards both in and outside the school settings, the traditional leaders, as well as religious leaders, should make sex education compulsory in their places of worship and lastly, premarital sex should be discouraged amongst the adolescents.
