The aim of this study was to find out ways the internet has enhanced the reading habit among students in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic and to ascertain the influence of the internet on the reading habits of students in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic. It is through reading that individuals access and enhance their intellectuals which ensure a continuous human and societal transformation and development. It is one of the fundamental building blocks of learning and adaptable readers enhance success in academics and beyond through reading. An internet-friendly individual is likely to perform well in academics than one who is less friendly. This research work focuses on the impact of the internet on the reading habit of Nigerian students. It is considered that the internet holds a promise of improved access to information, better illustration of the concept, increased interactivity and communication between students and their lecturers. The descriptive survey method was used to get analyzable responses from the audience of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua. The findings indicated that internet promotes and enhance the reading habit of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic students. It also revealed the problems associated with the use of the internet on the reading habit of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Students.
