Abstract
The study examined the Influence of Information and Communication Technologies on work performance using Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua as a Case Study. The objectives of this study were: to ascertain the extent staff of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic are exposed to ICT, it is also to identify forms of ICTs staff of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic are exposed to, to find out how ICTs enhance the job performance of the staff of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, and to ascertain the extent ICTs have influenced job performance of staff in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua. The research design used for this work was the case study. This was used to gather information from staff of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua. The instrument for data collection was questionnaire, the sampling technique was used to retrieved data from a sample size of 200 respondents. Two hundred and fifty (250) were administrated by the researcher with the help of a research assistant and two hundred and ten (210) were found useful. The Theory used for this study is Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Finding reveals that ICTs have enhanced job performance in Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic positively, and that staff of the institution is highly exposed to ICTs. The study recommends that the government of Akwa Ibom State should consider mobilizing resources geared at creating awareness in encouraging the use of available information technologies at the disposal of the people extent in order to enhance work performance in the polytechnics....
