Abstract
This project work examines the Economic Implication of the Local Content Policy on Industrial Production in Nigeria. Industrial production in Nigeria is besieged with a number of problems ranging from adequate skilled labour to support the growth of the oil and gas industry. There is also the problem with Nigerian’s attitude to locally made goods and services such as rejection of inferior products. Also, the problem of inadequate capital to fund the business of the local manufactures. The study was, therefore, undertaken to examine the impact of Local Content Policy on Industrial Production in Nigeria. The utilization of local content policy helps to enhance industrial production in Nigeria. The study employed survey research method. The primary data such as questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data from the respondents. The percentage and frequency table was used to present and analyze the data. The Chi-square (X 2) statistic was used to test the hypotheses. The internal consistency and reliability of the questionnaires were confirmed while the data were analyzed using Chi-square(X 2). It was observed that Local Content Policy has a significant impact on Industrial Production in Nigeria. It was also found that the existence of local content law has impacted positively on industrial production in Nigeria. It was recommended that if Nigerian manpower resources were utilized in the local content policy by industries, it will go a long way to enhance industrial production in Nigeria.   ...
