Abstract
This project work examines the Remuneration Strategies for Workers in a Depressed Economy (A Case Study of Two Selected Firms in the Private Sector in Nigeria). The study was, therefore, undertaken to examine how the reward or remuneration strategy is utilized by Nigeria. The study employed survey research method. The primary data such as questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data from the respondents. The percentage and frequency table were used to present and analyze the data. The Chi-square (X 2) statistic was used to test the hypotheses. The internal consistency and reliability of the questionnaires were confirmed while the data were analysed using Chi-square(X 2). It was observed that the Remuneration Strategies for Workers in a Depressed Economy have a significant impact on organizational performance in Nigeria. It was recommended that if organizations implement Remuneration Strategies for Workers via a performance pay system, the organization would be able to reduce unemployment during recessionary periods by cutting down on variable pay without workforce reduction. This will go a long way to enhance organizational performance in Nigeria.  ...
