Abstract
In this paper, an attempt has been made to identify the percentage of investment opportunities for cooperatives in three states. A distinction was made between financial investment and real investment” the financial investments are those that involve the creation of additional wealth or stock of goods and services or investment in the real sector. Such investment involves the production it tangible goods and essential services. Financial investments that are investments in shares, stocks and the buying and selling of debentures, are not undesirable but are not considered as a proper investment within the context and spirit of the desirability of cooperatives to contribute to“real production and thus the socio-economic development of the nation as a whole during this transaction period. The author during this transactions termed“cannons of cooperative investments in order to provide useful guidelines for cooperative investments....
