Abstract
This study examined the relationship between job enrichment and employee performance in the service sector in Rivers State. The total population for the study consisted of 280 employees. The study adopted Quasi-experimental design, simple random sampling methods was used. A total of 160 copies of questionnaires were administered to the respondents, simple percentage and chi-square (x2) was used as a statistical tool to analyze the research question and hypotheses. The study revealed that there is a significant relationship between autonomy and employee performance. The study concluded that the empirical outcome emphasizes the utilization of job enrichment as a veritable strategy in motivating workers such that they actualize the reduction of employees' withdrawal behaviour. The study recommends that management should ensure that employees receive unambiguous information about their performance as it has been found to be positively correlated with both commitment and performance of the employee....
